Coming along nicely.

Tonight Shelley and I went out for coffee. It’s been since Saturday since we have seen each other but we chat when we can online. I rode my bike up to Sterling where she lives, it’s only a few minutes up the road, and it was a beautiful night to ride. Shelley used to ride, and owned a Harley, I think she would definitely take it for a ride if I offered. :)

Earlier today while chatting we had a little impromptu game of word associations (about an hour or so, but when you are working at the same time it take a while) I have never done that before and I really enjoyed it. I feel as though we got answers to questions about each other without asking.

We stayed out probably later than what we should have. And I wasn’t ready to go. I could probably spend hours talking with her. Although sometimes I feel like I do most of the talking, She’s a good listener, (her words). LOL

So now I am still wired after a quad, and a regular coffee. So I will probably not fall asleep anytime soon. That’s ok, I am almost done with the entire West Wing series. I think I have 2 more DVD’s. I can probably watch an episode tonight.

9/11 Memorial ride.

What an event. It was huge. I was lucky to be able to get into the first 200 bikes and got some pictures of everyone coming into the Pentagon Parking.

The day started out with me having to use my horn to chase some deer back into the woods. It was really foggy this morning, so foggy, I kept having to wipe my glasses every few minutes on my way to meet some friends. Once there we road over to a chopper garage, and was escorted over to the staging area at the Air and Space Museum. That’s where it really got interesting.

We were lined up 8 abreast in line for parking, and it still stretched a good quarter mile or more. Pictures are below.

Once we got moving it took us about 45 minutes to get to Dulles. Great ride, and I don’t think we lost anyone. We had a ceremony in the lot at the pentagon, and that’s where I took off. I knew it was going to be a free for all leaving, and I didn’t want to get mixed up in that.

Here are some pics to enjoy. I am going to take a nap!!!

The largest ride so far!!!

Tomorrow AM I will getting up very early and joining a few friends and take a ride from Dulles Airport to the Pentagon in honor of the fallen heroes on 9/11. We’ve kept it small enough, only about 1000 motorcycles. A ceremony before the ride and at the Pentagon will be held to remember those who paid the highest price for freedom. I think I am more excited about being part of a ceremony to honor those heroes, instead of it just being a big get together for motorcycles. More information can be found here.

Also, over the past few days I have been able to enjoy the company of a very nice woman for dinner(s). Friday it was just the two of us, and tonight after some football watching, we had dinner again with her daughter (well, sort of, the girls didn’t want to sit with us, so they had their own table LOL). It feels good to have a conversation with someone new, someone that you know nothing about and to learn about them, at the same time sharing yourself with them. Maybe, if I am lucky (very lucky), I could get three dinners in a row tomorrow. We haven’t talked about it, but she’s going to read this, and I don’t know what, if anything she has planned, so I am just throwing it out there.

So with that, I am off to bed, and hopefully sleep. I will try (no promises) to post some pictures of the ride soon.

OH, ONE LAST THING!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY RAY!!!!!
